Materials of soft-sealed gate valves
Gray cast iron, rubber or PTFE
The main materials of soft-sealed gate valves include gray cast iron, rubber or PTFE. Gray cast iron is used for casting the valve body, valve cover and gate, while rubber or PTFE is used for the outer coating of the gate to form a soft sealing pair of rubber to metal, ensuring good sealing performance and almost zero leakage rate.
The material selection of soft-sealed gate valves has its specific advantages. Gray cast iron has good corrosion resistance, which can effectively prevent the valve from rusting and is suitable for corrosive environments such as sewage treatment systems. Elastic materials such as rubber or PTFE provide good sealing performance, ensuring effective sealing under various working conditions.
In addition, the material combination of soft-sealed gate valves also affects its physical properties. Gray cast iron is light in weight, about 1/3 lighter than traditional steel, which is easy to install and maintain. The outer coating of rubber or PTFE provides good elasticity, which can compensate for deformation to a certain extent and further enhance the sealing effect.
